Honey Walnut Prawns - Ton Kiang

If you've never eaten Honey Walnut Prawns, you haven't lived yet!! lol This is another absolute favorite dish of mine!!

One of the best combos out there!! The crunchy, sweet candied walnuts paired with the battered prawns, which were quick fried and coated with a light sauce...OMG!!!

This is an outstanding dish!!! 

Lemon Chicken - Ton Kiang

This chicken made my daughter's husband forget the fact that he said he didn't like chicken!! lol

This lemon chicken is THE best lemon chicken I have ever tasted in my life..PERIOD!!!  The lemon sauce is tart and sweet at the same time, the chicken has a crispy skin, and is so moist and juicy inside!!

THE BEST!!!!!! 

Salt and Pepper Scallops - Ton Kiang

Salt and Pepper anything is good to me!! I usually see salt and pepper calamari, or salt and pepper shrimp on the menu, so it is quite a treat to find salt and pepper scallops on the menu!

So delicious!!! I could literally eat the whole plate by myself!!! :-)

Chicken Feet - Ton Kiang

I've always said that I would try any food once!! This is probably my one and only time trying chicken feet!! lol

My daughter has eaten them before, and loves them, so I had a clue as to what the experience would be like...sort of!!

She told me that the texture is gelatinous, which was true!! What I wasn't prepared for was the PLUMP size of the feet.  I was totally shocked!! These feet looked like they had been wearing Air Jordans!!!

Then when I picked one up, I noticed the long toe, and the pedicure!! I'm telling you,"SHE (meaning me) WASN'T READY!" to quote Kevin Hart!!

The flavor was excellent, but I really wasn't ready.  We had a good time with this one!! haha ;-)

Whole Fresh Fish - Ton Kiang

One of my favorite things to get when I visit Ton Kiang is their crispy catfish in soy sauce and hot oil!!

This fish is everything the title says.  It is crispy, even while sitting in the soy sauce and hot oil!!

Yummy goodness is what this is!!! It may not look like much, but don't let looks fool you on this one!! :-)

Soft Shell Crab - Ton Kiang

This is one of the most beautiful soft shell crabs that I have ever seen on a plate!! On a recent trip to Ton Kiang, I ordered lots of things from their Dim Sum menu, believe it or not, this one of of the items!!

Beautiful AND tasty!!! This crab was succulent, and finger licking good!!!

Just feast your eyes on this beauty!!  I will definitely order this again!! :-) 

Stuffed Mushrooms - Ton Kiang

People either love mushrooms or they hate them.  I am one of the mushroom lovers of the world!! I will definitely look for them on any menu that I get!!

In the pic below are Ton Kiang's crab & shrimp stuffed mushrooms.  They look tasty, and they are VERY delicious!!

Some things you just can't describe, these mushrooms would fall into that category.  I'll put it this way, a pic says a thousand words!!

Soooooo YUMMY!!!!

Veggie Tempura - Midori Japanese Cuisine

Outside of shrimp tempura, veggie tempura is my all time favorite.  The best that I have found is at Midori Japanese Cuisine!!

They know how to make tempura that just melts in your mouth!! They give a very good mixture of sweet potatoes, carrots, broccoli, green beans and peppers.  Looking at this pic, I want more!!!

Ice Sculpture - SF Luge

This my friends is an ice luge! My boss is a huge SF fan, as witnessed by this ice sculpture!

The company that chiseled it did an outstanding job with this sculpture.  You can't see it from here, but there is literally a luge going down the center of the top of this ice sculpture!!!

It is my understanding that you can pour your drink down the luge to make it cold!  I didn't get to stay long enough to see that, because of a previous commitment.  Nice!!

Herbed Brie with Crackers

Here is another crowd pleasing appetizer that was served.  It was a hit with the crowd!!

I love brie any way it comes, but it is especially tasty with herbs!!! Very tasty!

Shrimp Cocktail

I attended the retirement party for my boss recently, and one of the appetizers was this wonderful shrimp cocktail!

I'm not sure who made it, but it was awesome.  He chose to have the party at his home, which was awesome, because it made it more personal. 

This was THE perfect shrimp cocktail!!!

Coffee and Breakfast Burrito - Burrito from Adalberto's

I had a nice relaxing day off from work recently, so I made myself a great cup of coffee, topped with whipped cream! 

I enjoyed my cup of coffee along with a mouth watering steak and egg burrito from Adalberto's.

I love moments like these!!!:-)

Very Berry Smoothie - Made by Ty

This is what was left of the berry smoothie that my daughter made.  It was so good, I forgot to take a pic!!!

She used a variety of berries, plain yogurt, water and honey! You can't get much healthier than that!! :-)

Good stuff!!!

Caramel Cheesecake Bites - Del Taco

These are literally little bites of heaven!! These cheesecake bites from Del Taco are nice and warm when you buy them.  They are sweet, but not too sweet and nice and creamy in the center. The crunch on the outside puts the icing on the cake!!

I'll buy the 4 pack and share 2 of them with someone else, because I would eat all 4!!! :-)

Sour Cream & Onion - Popped Wheat Thins

While out and about, I saw these on a shelf.  I thought to myself "why not?" These are really light, and full of flavor.

It's kind of like eating chips without all the guilt!! If you see these on a shelf in your local market or grocery store, you should definitely give them a try!!

Yummy!!!

Cherry Dipped Vanilla Ice Cream - Dairy Queen

Oh yeah!!! The one and only cherry dipped vanilla ice cream cone from DQ!! Most frosting, and other food products that use red dye tend to be a bit bitter. That is NOT the case with DQ's cherry dipped ice cream.

I really wish I had the recipe to their cherry dip!! It is simply delicious!!! One of the best things about DQ!! :-)

Reese's Peanut Butter Cup Blizzard - Dairy Queen

Who goes to Dairy Queen without getting ice cream?? No one that I know! This is one of their famous Blizzards.  I chose the Reese's Peanut Butter Cup version. 

I try to break out of the normal eating patterns that I have from time to time. The reason I say that is because if I go to DQ, I get the dipped cones, which you will see in the next post.

This was the small, and believe me, it was TOO much to eat all at once.  I put it in my fridge when I got home and finished it the next day.

DELICIOUS!!!

Popcorn Shrimp and Fries - Dairy Queen

I normally just get the ice cream at DQ, but this time, I decided to try some of their food.

In the pic below is their popcorn shrimp and fries basket, which comes with a side of coleslaw.

Since they are known for their ice cream, I wasn't expecting much from the food.  I was pleasantly surprised!! This was a really tasty little basket!!  The amount of food was just right too! :-)

Fried Banana with Coconut Ice Cream - Wat Phou Thai Restaurant

Somebody was feeling really creative in the kitchen!! This is our fried banana with coconut ice cream dessert!!

It's SO cute!!! They made our ice cream and fried banana into an awesome snowman!  Not only was it appealing to the eye, but it was very tasty as well.

Iced Chai - Wat Phou Thai Restaurant

This is one of the best iced chai's that I've ever had!! The spiciness was just perfect!! I loved every drop of this tea!!!

It's pretty cute how they made the straw sleeve into a rose!! Very nice touch!!!

Peanut Butter Cookies - Made by Joann

My sister made some of her delicious peanut butter cookies for some friends!! I want to be her when I grow up!! ;-)

Santa Barbara Style Burger - The Habit

The Habit has the perfect name!! It can become a habit if you eat there!! I haven't tasted anything from The Habit that wasn't good!

In the pic below is their Santa Barbara style burger that comes with avocado! You can pretty much customize it from there.  In the background is a pomegranate lemonade and their crispy fries.

Gummy Bears - Haribo

If you can find a person, child or adult, that doesn't like gummy bears, I would say that person hasn't tried Haribo gummy bears!!

I LOVE these gummy bears!! Yummy!!!

Macaroni and Cheese Balls

I wanted to try something new, something that I've never cooked before. So for some reason, I had a thought to make macaroni and cheese balls!

I didn't even know if they existed, so I searched the net to see if I could find a recipe.  Plan B was to make a recipe up myself!!

I found a great, easy recipe!! In the pics below are the before and after shots of my mac and cheese balls.

They were so tasty!!! It was like having your own portable mac and cheese!! I loved these, and so did the family!! If you want to try them for yourself, the link to the recipe is below!!  If you do make them, I'm sure you'll love them just as much as I did!!

My sister cooked this beautiful plate of food you see in the pic below.  I was invited to dinner, but I couldn't make it.  All I get to do is stare at this pic with the rest of you.

She added some mixed veggies and some roasted red potatoes!!!  This looks absolutely delicious!!!

Shrimp Po Boy - Lucille's Smokehouse Bar-B-Que

Lucille's doesn't mess around when it comes to their Shrimp Po Boy sandwich!! Just look at all that juicy, crispy plump shrimp!!

There is so much shrimp in this sandwich that it is literally falling out of the bread! Come to think of it, you can barely see the bread in this pic!

This is an awesome and delicious sandwich!! :-)

Egg Rolls - Peking Express

In keeping with my "honesty is the best policy," I'm going to do that in this case.  I absolutely love egg rolls, and I've always loved the egg rolls at Peking Express, however, I think they must have changed something about the recipe.

They are a little different than I remember.  I mean they are okay, but just not the same.  I'm sure you all have experienced something like that at a favorite restaurant.

They have a nice crunch, but it's the texture of the inside that threw me just a little.  I'm still going to eat a Peking Express, because overall they have great food!

Fried Rice and Spare Ribs in Black Bean Sauce - Peking Express

I usually get chow mein when I go to Peking Express, but I decided to switch it up this time and get the fried rice. Their fried rice is really good, and cooked to perfection!!

The spare ribs with black bean sauce are so tender and juicy, and they fall of the bone easily.  This is a must try combo.  If I can say this...yummy goodness!!

Salt and Pepper Shrimp - Peking Express

People!!! This pic just does not do this tasty spicy dish justice!! These shrimp have a nice crispy coating on the outside and are nice and tender on the inside. 

The saltiness and spiciness are perfect!!! I can't buy these too often, because I would totally eat every single shrimp in the container!!

Sooooooooo Yummy!!!!

Peanut Butter M&M's

I was "re-introduced" to these gems recently, and it brought back all the good things I love about these M&M's!!!

The traditional crunch of the outside shell paired with the smooth creamy peanut butter on the inside...you just can't beat this combo!!  

Of course I like other kinds of M&M's as well, but these are at the top of my list!! :-)

Breafast Sandwiches

There is NO meal I love more than breakfast!!! Forgive me for repeating that constantly, but I think you get the point! ;-)

In the pic below are two breakfast sandwiches, the one on the left with egg has veggie sausage and cheese, and the one on the right is just sausage and biscuit.

I would love to tell you that I didn't eat both of them, but I would be lying to you and I'm sure you wouldn't want me to do that!!

They were both VERY yummy!!!!
